Is it Possible to Encrypt XML Using MSXML in VBA?

I am working on a a VBA (Excel) application which stores its data as XML files, using MSXML.

There are a number of articles and posts around the internet which state XML can be encrypted. Is it possible using MSXML in VBA? If so, where can I find documentation?
