I have tried a variety of different tutorials and instructions, but I keep falling down in a few places.
It's usually along the lines of "downloadxml.js does not exist" etc. etc.
My one goal is to get temperature data from a file (of any format I choose), that is on my server and updated remotely via another device. I.e. it is rewritten every 5 or 10 minutes, so anytime the page is loaded, it picks up the most recent version of the file and displays those details.
This doesn't sound to me like it should be very complicated, but there seems to be so many different problems with reaching into another page to pick up some data and putting it into the GoogleMaps API.
