XML : Android App Manifest XML file opens with Weird Characters Spacing

I'm reviewing an Android App Manifest file created by an asian third party app vendor. When I open the file, I see the code but every character has a space in between. I'm using Microsoft xml viewer after changing the App.apk file to App.apk.zip.

Is this supposed to be normal?
