Can't figure out how to display Articles/RSS feeds from other websites in an aggregate exactly the way I want

I am trying to create an article aggregate website for a very specific topic, but am unable to display the feeds exactly how I want them to look using popular reader/display apps like Feedly, Tint, Flipboard, etc... They do not allow enough customization in terms of how the article previews are displayed, and what compounds the problem is that every websites RSS feed is entirely different in terms of how they display things like article titles, authors and thumbnail previews, so when using a reader app and embedding it in my website, you get wildly different results for each website you are pulling feeds from, making my feed look totally unprofessional. I am looking for consistency in the feed (which i want to display as tiles)

Here is an example of the problem I have with the different apps on the web. I threw it onto a random wix site for you to checkout: http://ift.tt/15dLATI

Since I can't make this happen with a 3rd party web app, how do I do it myself? Build a custom RSS reader? Web Scraping? Some other tool?

In essence, I want to make the feeds on my site to look very, very similar to the article previews that the sites I am aggregating use. E.g. http://ift.tt/Wpm3kw

And to clarify, all my feeds/tiles will be linked to the original content. I am not copying the content of their articles or anything shady like that.

As an aside, I made an IOS App that does everything I want and described here except display the thumnails, I just have no experience building something like this for the web.
