How to create an xml file using servlet?

I have to read the input text from the user and save it in an xml file using servlet .. I use code to create xml file and it does not work

The code I take it from this link And when I run the servelt it open the html page without creating an new xml .. in the link above it say create web.xml , is it correct to put it in the project folder without calling or do any thing becaouse I think it is the problem ..right??

Do you have any suggest to solve the problem or other code that can create an xml file using servlet
