Java code to copy/import xml file and paste into a http webservice text field

I am new to automation testing using Maven/Eclipse. I currently have a task to get an xml file into into a http webservice textfield and post it to generate some numbers, then copy the generated set of numbers into an existing URL (replacing part of the URL with the generated numbers). Kindly help.
