Yii extension XML Parsing Error: no element found

I've stripped down my XML feed to the bare minimum

 <xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8">
<rss version="2.0">
<channel>
<title>RSS2 Feed</title>
<link>http://ift.tt/1DAShdx;
</channel>
</rss>

and I still get this error on chrome
